DOGWOOD SHOEBOX PARADE

Saturday, May 15, 2021 | 2:30 PM

Presented by Phoenixville Jaycees & Videon Chevrolet of Phoenixville

Note: Due to some technical difficulties the premiere of the Dogwood Shoebox Parade will now be at 2:30PM on May 15th.

While the pandemic may have cancelled our annual Dogwood Parade this year, we’re challenging the community to make parade floats from shoeboxes to parade down our make-believe Bridge Street! Traditional announcements and commentary will be made during the parade and the resulting film will premiere on Facebook on Saturday, May 15th at 2:30PM!

FLOAT ENTRY

Any individual, club, non-profit, or business is eligible to enter their shoebox float into the parade!

HOW IT WORKS

Step 1 - Create:

  • Grab a "shoe box" or something similar. It doesn't have to roll.  It just needs to be able to be “pulled” by string for the actual parade. Only restriction is that it should be no larger than 9" x 13"

  • Find your materials - Entries can be made from things you already have at home. You could use flowers from your yard, craft supplies, paper mache’, clay, paint, markers, or anything else you can find to bring your float to life! Please note: due to the number of submissions we will not be able to return floats, so do not include any valuable materials. Decorations on the box should not exceed 15" tall.

  • Start building - Floats can showcase an original design, recreate (or improve upon) a historical parade float, or tell a story. The theme of the parade is “Phoenixville Proud”.

Step 2 - Enter:

  • Submit your entry - fill out the registration form online and drop off your float between 6-8PM on May 3rd at 8 Gay Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460. No entries will be received after 8PM on May 3rd.

Step 3 - Watch!

  • Tell your friends and family to watch the parade and see your float featured in the Dogwood Shoebox Parade on Facebook at 1 PM on Saturday, May 15, 2021.
